【 believe in 】

【意味】

〜を信用する

【例文】

I don’t believe in something like God.
（僕は神みたいなものは信じないよ。）

I leave it to you. I believe in you.
（私はあなたに任せるよ。信じてるよ。）

Beth who is just transfered to Komazawa Univ. believes in God.
（駒沢大学に転入したベスは神を信じている。）

【補足】

believe inは「〜の存在を信じる、〜が善いものだと信じる」というニュアンスがあります。

一方で他動詞のbelieveは「〜が（正しいと）信じる、〜の（言っていることを）信じる」というニュアンスになります。
