I went to Kitahachiouji for the first time. It is nice place to live.
（私は北八王子に初めて行きました。そこは住むのにとても良い場所です。）

It rained for the first time in many days.
（久しぶりで雨に降った。）

【補足】

最期の例文に出てくるfor the first time in many daysは、「多くの日々の中で、初めて（それより前には経験している）」が転じて「久しぶり」という意味になっており、これも頻出イディオムです。
